You can delete your SmartWasteCycle account and associated personal data at any time. There are two ways to request deletion.
Option 1 — In the app (instant)
- Open the SmartWasteCycle app and sign in.
- Go to the Profile tab.
- Tap Delete Account and confirm.
Your account is deactivated immediately and your personal data is anonymized.
Option 2 — By email
If you can no longer access the app, email support@smartwastecycle.org from your registered email address with the subject "Delete my account". We will verify and process your request within 30 days.
What is deleted
Upon deletion we anonymize and remove your personal data, including your name, email, phone number, address, location, and profile photo, and we revoke your access tokens and stored push token.
What is retained, and for how long
For legal, accounting, and fraud-prevention purposes we retain anonymized records (such as transaction and pickup history with personal identifiers removed) for up to 12 months, after which they are deleted. Records we are legally required to keep (e.g., financial/tax records) are retained for the period required by law.
